The Bonney Lake Panthers Track and Field team played host to the Silas Rams in a thrilling showdown on Thursday, April 18th. Under the watchful gaze of the sun and with a gentle breeze teasing the track, the Panthers delivered a masterclass performance in a picturesque setting beneath the towering presence of Mount Rainier. They secured victories in both the Women's and Men's Varsity categories.
The scoreboard reflected the Panthers' dominance, with the Women's Varsity team securing a commanding 91-66 victory over their opponents, while the Men's Varsity squad triumphed with a score of 82.5-68.5.
Among the standout moments of the meet were the remarkable performances by individual athletes, showcasing both talent and determination. Nathan Korth left spectators in awe as he blazed through the 800 Meters, clinching first place with a personal record-breaking time of 2:02.24a. Not to be outdone, Olivia Nantz made an unforgettable debut in the 800 Meter race, seizing first place and setting a new personal best with a lightning-fast time of 2:21.18a.
In the Women's 100 Meter event, all eyes were on Abby Wilson as she powered her way to victory with an impressive time of 12.45a, marking yet another personal best for the talented athlete. Meanwhile, Jada Shipp stole the spotlight in the Shot-Put competition, delivering a jaw-dropping throw of 38-07.50 to secure first place and set a new personal record.
The dominance of the Panthers extended beyond the track, with Jazmyn Shipp and Jessi Arreola showcasing their sill in the Discus throw. Jazmyn unleashed a monumental throw of 112-05 to claim the top spot, while Jessi followed closely behind with an impressive throw of 106-03, securing second place and setting a personal best in the process.
As the sun dipped below the horizon and the cheers of victory echoed across the field, the Bonney Lake Panthers celebrated a triumphant day on the track.
